Hi, I’m Rick.
There’s no wizard behind the curtain at olivetree financial coaching, only me. OFC is a one person shop and if we end up working together, you’ll be dealing with me, so let me tell you a little bit about myself.

Like you, I try to make the most out of my life.

In the summer of 2020 after more than 30 years in Corporate America, I (along with my lovely wife) made FIRE (we became “Financially Independent, Retired Early”). So I quit my job as a VP for a major multinational corporation to pursue the things that I really enjoy doing. While somewhat limited by COVID, I’ve been biking quite a bit, reading a lot, and launching my new business to help people have a holistic understanding of their finances and make better financial decisions. As for my qualifications, I hold an MBA and an MS in Financial Services, along with Bachelor degrees in Economics and Engineering. I’m also a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®). In my last several years in Corporate America, I oversaw the investment options in a $6 billion 401(k) plan as well a $4 billion pension plan, which gave me some insights about what works and what doesn’t. I also led a team that provides health and retirement benefits to more than 50,000 people. This experience, combined with my education and training, really gives me a broad perspective of ALL ASPECTS of your financial life.
In addition to all that, I’ve actually “walked the walk.” I retired (or rewired, as my lovely wife likes to say) by age 55. I was able to do this as a result of what I like to refer to as “getting our finances in SHAPE” (Sustainable, Holistic, Aligned, Personalized, Effective). And I’d like to help you get your finances in SHAPE, too.
